Rone – Liminal Space
Direction : Pauline Bricout
Proposition : Rone
To illustrate the piece Liminal Space by Rone, Pauline chose to work on form and material. We thus see to the rhythm of the music a “dose” passing different stages. From a liquid state to that of rock, before dissolving into gas… With contrasting black and white tones, it’s associated with only two colors (red and blue). This way, this loop serves as a setting for the piece, like a cocoon. The spatial background further adds to the desired and achieved effect. It allows the eye to focus on a point on the screen, the ears fully receiving the music. The brain is then in a kind of soft floating, fluffy, conducive to listening to this piece of Rone.
A long-time fan of the electronic music artist, this first dose is also a way of approaching the Infiné label. Founded by Agoria, Infiné is Rone’s label, to which he has been faithful since its inception. “Liminal Space” comes from the album “Room With a View”, partially composed with (La) Horde. The album was designed and released in the midst of a pandemic, which leads to “Rone and friends”, concretization of the initial project.
About the “La première dose est gratuite” video capsule :
The concept of #La1èreDoseEstGratuite allows director Pauline Bricout to present her work to different artists with whom she would like to collaborate. She therefore chooses each piece according to her musical affinity and imagines the universe for this one in particular and for this sample more precisely. The sample chosen is about 10 seconds long, so as not to interfere or take advantage of the piece, that it remains illustrative and not parasitic. Once the dose has been made, she contacts the artist or the label directly, either by email or via social networks.
